Privacy Policy

Short version: Next Eye runs entirely on your computer. We do not collect, store, sell or share any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no telemetry, no advertising and no tracking.

What stays on your computer

Settings and screen layouts are saved in %APPDATA%\Next Eye and never leave your PC. Deleting that folder removes them.
Logs are saved in %APPDATA%\Next Eye\logs to help diagnose problems. They record what the app did (for example “connected to SteamVR”) — never the titles of your windows, what you type, what is on your screen or chat content. They are only sent to anyone if you choose to attach them to a support request.
Your screen and windows are captured by Windows and shown in your headset by your graphics card. Nothing is recorded, saved or transmitted.
Keyboard input from the VR keyboard goes to your own programs, like a physical keyboard. Nothing is stored or transmitted.
The performance monitor reads frame rate, CPU, GPU and memory usage from SteamVR and Windows to show them in VR. Nothing is stored or transmitted.

Optional features that talk to other programs or services

These are off unless you use them. In each case Next Eye talks directly to the program or service — never to a server of ours (we have none).

Feature	What happens
VRChat avatar parameters and chatbox	Sends small messages to VRChat on your own computer (OSC, `127.0.0.1`). Text you send to the chatbox is shown by VRChat to other players, as with VRChat's own chatbox.
OBS control	Connects to OBS Studio on your own computer. To connect without asking you, it reads the WebSocket password from OBS's settings file on your PC; the password is never stored elsewhere or transmitted.
Twitch chat	Connects anonymously and read-only to Twitch's public chat for the channel you type, and loads emote images from Twitch. As with visiting any website, Twitch receives your IP address, and Twitch's privacy policy applies to that connection. No Twitch account is used.
Discord shortcuts	Presses keyboard shortcuts you set up in Discord. No connection to Discord is made.
Media controls	Reads what is playing from Windows' media controls to show it on the watch. Nothing is transmitted.

Purchases and updates

Next Eye is sold and updated through Steam. Purchases, payment details and download statistics are handled by Valve under the Steam Privacy Policy. Next Eye itself does not receive that information.

This website

nexteye.app uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts or fonts. It is hosted by Vercel, which, like any web host, processes your IP address to deliver the pages and protect the service, under Vercel's privacy policy.

Children

Next Eye does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with a new date.
